Using Bias Free Languagge

Many people do not think or realize what they are saying until it is already been said and they have hurt someone's feelings. The real problem to this is that we do not think of the words that stereotype groups of people.

By keeping in mind certain information we can avoid a lot of uncomfortable situations. Starting off with avoiding somebody's age. Specify age only when it is relevant, otherwise it may come off as rude or inconsiderate. Stay away from expressions that are demeaning or subjective. Lastly AVOID somebody's disability , do not refer to an individuals disability unless it is relevant. This may help people from getting caught in the idea of putting someone down or being offensive and putting the other person down. If you follow these simple guidelines you will definitely not being hurting anyone's feelings.
